Calling all future veterinarians! Carson County Veterinary Clinic and our sister hospital, High Plains Animal Hospital are offering externship opportunities to 4th year veterinary students.

Hands on learning opportunities will be in Borger, Panhandle, or local farms and ranches. Participation in weekend and after-hours emergencies and patient care is required. lnternet access including VlN, periodicals, and textbooks are available for your after hours study, or simply for your pleasure. Our Panhandle location is near the Square House Museum while  Huber Park is across the street from the Borger clinic. Amarillo is 45 minutes away and Palo Duro Canyon is 60+ minutes away. Fast food and restaurants are available locally. lf you’re not familiar with the Texas Panhandle, we have four real seasons each year. You should plan your wardrobe accordingly.

  • Cow/calf, stocker, equine, and swine care cases
  • Best time for beef cattle experience is Mid-October to late November
  • Emergency and after-hours work
  • Honest evaluation of your skills
